How serious is Climate change | Upjeet Brar | Connect Lifestyle

During this interview with host Vijay Saini, Upjeet Brar, a manufacturing engineer, addressed the pressing issue of climate change. He began by tracing the origins of the Paris Accord, which was brought into existence to combat global warming. However, he noted that once the problem was supposedly resolved, interest in it waned. Brar then delved into the various factors contributing to global warming, including the emission of greenhouse gases through transportation, the burning of fossil fuels, and the release of carbon emissions from coal plants. He also explained how the Earth's temperature is rising due to the increase in these emissions and how they are produced.

[00:00:00] Speaker A: Climate change Desantar Jegal Kari Tajala Paris Accord Hoyasi Paris accord Paris accord Kisi te Paris accord. [00:00:13] Speaker B: So Cherry apnea carbon emissions are concerned temperature Holy Holy Warm warm Honal problems so Paris 2015 SARI countries pre industrial era 1890s 1900s the starting industry Shuru Hondi fossil fuel burning Shuru Hindi Jo Aus Tap Mana average temperatures but the final target is 2 degrees we want to keep it well below 2 degrees the target 1.5 degrees earth the temperature average increase so 2015 the Vecha card on that 2016 the which is sign up on the sari countries no emission targets carbon emissions no on carbon emissions no control Karna Kyo important example all the windows are closed so sunlight sunlight frequency but heat radiate eventually Holly Holly correct J so carbon emissions carbon emissions carbon dioxide pollution increase carbon dioxide the Matra Vadegi atmosphere. [00:02:13] Speaker A: Speaking of that pre industrial level on average dead degree high limit of the 2 degrees European Environment Agency average pre industrial level. [00:02:47] Speaker B: Throughout the last year Sara saw the average temperature day degree 17th and 18th of November no 2.07 to 2.06 degrees average earth temperature so is even though ratify Karla 2016 which 2015 but in a sincere c no secondly Ray of Hope 10 to 20 year average increases so last year outlier but clearly we are not meeting the targets seriously average 20 year. [00:03:49] Speaker A: Dunia which bought Zada hormone landmass forest cover both jungle Kinnazada so key Canada carbon emit Horya Jovi production consumer habits absorb argument total carbon emissions which both miniscule. [00:04:31] Speaker B: But argument Canada the population world the population the other percent per carbon emissions so we apna carbon share Hai we cannot carbon dioxide emit Karna countries like China China 29% emit KAR US 15% India 7% Canada but per capita emissions so on an Average world emissions 4.66 metric ton carbon dioxide equivalent Jadk Canada is the thin gun so per person emission average world emission. [00:05:28] Speaker A: British Columbia natural gas natural gas extract no doubt about it per capita emissions extract energy produced carbon emissions overall global emissions carbon emissions that is not the case so Kiyo Ho practical solution. [00:06:23] Speaker B: Practical solution Carbon emission natural gas fired plant double hair per unit energy but general Galvi create carbon dioxide emission equivalent coal plant or double off natural gas natural gas export India world over but country wise target emissions so policy pinpoint focus to Canadian carbon emissions US power import Kiti last time coal fired plants the JSE world over as a wholesome picture polluting sources gradually lower polluting sources. [00:07:40] Speaker A: We are not only so far pitchless but 2023 situation. [00:08:23] Speaker B: So a quantity about 20% of the electricity distribute Kiti BC Hydro BC import Kita the main reasons rain shortages dams production water conserve currently lower energy rates the time BC Hydronium states so O JD energy upon bike basically coal fired power plants natural gas fired power plants America different emissions monetary value plus transmission losses energy. [00:09:42] Speaker A: Again impact let's put it in this context Last year sightsee dam Chalda Hunda. [00:10:05] Speaker B: Power shortage so site C dam the Production is about 10% of BC requirement 20% short say so San 10% Bisley Tamvi import Karni Penisi or Dusra region site C dam again water they depend Kar the targeted production 11,000 megawatts per J Panidi shortage dam Honda infrastructure but water shortage Hoagie resource infrastructure ingredient. [00:10:46] Speaker A: Forests carbon emissions. [00:10:59] Speaker B: Overall Canada carbon sink trees absorb carbon dioxide but at the same time carbon emit Vi Kara emission wildfire carbon dioxide emissions trees the degradation pine beetle attack Canadian forest forest degrade Hoga trees so methane 28 times more potent Hagia carbon dioxide JC DE K on an average Canada the total net emissions megaton carbon dioxide equivalent the Aspas countries opt out Canada the forest on an average of carbon dioxide absorb Kar so positive Ja carbon sink but at the same time emissions wildfire pine beetle attack United Nations Halevi Pushkar benefit Lali But 2015 the JD wildfire Sigi Ode which Doso Senti megaton carbon dioxide emit the last year wildfire megaton so Agaron absorb Kiti megaton release Kiti Canada opt out Kitasi but honey United nations managed forest but wildfire control. [00:13:12] Speaker A: Consumption electrification hydroelectric dams to Alava Ontario nuclear plants nuclear plants national level energy solutions vast Every idea is on the table with nuclear plants nuclear plants pros and cons. [00:13:51] Speaker B: Nuclear plant uranium based nuclear plant up fission reaction based uranium take Canada uranium like Bhatwadas roth world the 10 to 12% JD uranium mining top three on there number one Kazakhstan alliance here about half Canada the number on there so fission use Kirke energy produce energy production carbon emissions on there so upon Thoraja count Karl even hydrogen dams emissions per unit energy half nuclear okay so yes France nuclear energy Ontario the which Pandra percent electricity generate v nuclear but huge capital investment upfront Bahat investment Karna Pendiya concrete building blocks strong lead the use of toxic metal or radioactive fuel emissions radiations all through life time frame But Canada is That's true actually yes yes yes Canada technology export Canada which did a nuclear plant who bought high quality Canada Ontario the government Pickering the plant 1979 Three Mile island nuclear meltdown Chernobyl 1986 incident so safety concern politicians avoid Karnajan or next lobbies Canada government decision making just lobby pressure Pala just time the nuclear lobby strong Sigi nuclear plant bang hydro strong gas so a lobbying culture. [00:16:52] Speaker A: Analysis paralysis continued transportation environment, carbon emissions. [00:17:29] Speaker B: NET carbon sink 65% of the forest managed the forest clearings, so Bhutani Kasi country net carbon sink so ideal country Europe the Netherlands transport system, bicycles Netherlands every road has bicycle lanes, even population net number of bikes so carbon tax collector government buddy pride carbon tax collector redistribute net zero but every quarter investments carbon absorption technologies, carbon capture technologies. [00:19:06] Speaker A: Carbon tax consumers consumption pattern change as such carbon tax JG.
